Me, "Avary, come sign Lea's birthday card."
Avary, "Is it ok if I just sign Griffens name? I can do that much better."
I wonder if this means that she is going to be forging my name at an early age like her big brother?!

Bike ride on the American River bike trail.
With family in town for Memorial Day, we decided to go for a bike ride out of the neighborhood. So we loaded up the bikes and headed to the American River bike trail. Other than trying to explain to the kids that we NEED to stay on this side of the 'road' it was a lot of fun. We even convinced my mom to wear a helmet even though it was going to mess up her hair. :)
Back away or you WILL be shocked!
Training days!
When all else fails, grab the bubbles....
We have millions of toys, books, balls and pieces of chalk and still almost every day someone is "So Bored!". Now that the weather is finally starting to be nice we have been blowing, I guess more like twirling, bubbles. We found these awesome bubble sticks at the $1 area in Target and they have been the hot item ever since. I must say, they make some serious bubbles!
Whats Up Doc?
We saw dogs, birds, ducks and oh yeah, some kangaroos!

Jackson, "Mom, how old do you have to be to eat a twinkie?" said in a very serious way.
Me, said in a twinkie guarding way, "34!"
Did you know......
Twinkies by the Numbers:
◦500 million: The number of Twinkies baked each year.
◦10: The minutes it takes to bake a Twinkie.
◦1930: The year James Dewar invented the two-for-a-nickel treat.
◦150: The number of calories in one Twinkie.
◦50: The number of recipes in the Twinkies Cookbook.
◦7: The number of Twinkies needed to make the "Patriotic Twinkie Pie" recipe in the Twinkies Cookbook.
◦1: The rank of New Orleans in terms of per capita Twinkie consumption compared to other cities in the U.S.
◦1999: The year President Bill Clinton included Twinkies in the millennium time capsule.
◦26 days: The shelf life of a Twinkie.

Jacksons dancing debut!
Tonight was Jacksons Open House at school. This year was a little different. I don't know if they do it to get families to come, but it worked. All the third grade classes did a couple of dances out on the playground. It was super cute to see everyone lined up and dancing! They all did great. This is the only 'dance' I can get to upload :(
I promise he didn't learn this from me.....
Instead of a card for Bri (Craigs niece) for her birthday this year, the twins wanted to sing for her. Perfect, I thought. After about 20 attempts for just the very best one this is what I ended up with. Griffen telling Avary to "shut your yap" and "shut your pie hole". NICE!! Oh well, Happy Birthday Bri!

"Mom, it's because I'm GATE. "
Well, I must be FENCE because these are difficult words! Every week Jackson brings home what I like to call "The List", his weekly spelling words. This weeks words made me use Bing more than once. Here are a few examples......
percussion instruments
Holy Communion
communique
sea anemone
tambourine
succession
forensic
ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I can't imagine what 4th Grade words are going to be like.
Got his test back today............100% :)

Meet Max!
So, this past weekend our friends headed down to the Happiest Place on Earth. We helped out by dog sitting their little buddy Max at our house! The kids have been wanting a dog for quite sometime (or as Jackson says, either a dog or a big brother) so we thought that this would be a good trial run at it. I am happy to say it went great. Sure it helps that Max was already trained and used to kids tugging at him, but really, it was fun. We were warned that he liked to play fetch. They weren't kidding. Luckily having three kids, we were able to make 'shifts' for someone to be throwing the ball for him pretty much all day. Tomorrow he goes home and will surely be missed. Thank you Hersek family for sharing with us!
Kathie Lee's sweat factory has nothing on mine!

It all started with the word 'heirloom'
I recently hung up an UpperCase Living piece (wall sticker saying) on the wall in the upstairs hallway and it desperately needed something underneath it. But, something special. One night I got it, a silhouette photo of each child. I tried to find some of just generic kids, how sad is that, but then decided I was up for the challenge of silhouetting my very own. It turned out to be super easy and lots of fun. I might even start doing it annually. Ok, maybe every 5 or so years. Wouldn't it be neat to see how each of there little nooks and crannies changes over time? One thing I did learn was that Jackson has a very pointy chin! They all have the same ADORABLE little button noses though :) Now, can you tell who is who?

A mention in a fun local magazine article!
A friend of mine does some work for local magazines and recently contacted me asking if I would be intersted in answering a few questions for an upcoming article she was working on. The topic, Date Night! I thought she was kidding at first, but she explained it's really about parents making it possible for a Date Night! Even though Craig and I don't do it often, I still thought it would be fun to be a part of the article. Here is the link to the article. Enjoy!
