She told me!

So tonight at dinner, I placed Avary's milk down next to her plate. She quickly walked over and said, "Umm Mom, I like my milk at one, not ten."

Daddy's Home!

Craig was gone for the whole week and I DO NOT wrestle! So, as soon as they heard the key turning in the door it was "wrestle time". Griffen has learned to were protection though. I guess he has been hurt one too many times.

Avary, "Next time lets leave Griffen at home. He doesn't even go underwater."

We finished swimming lessons tonight. They all did great! Jackson learned a couple of new strokes and Avary learned quite a bit as well. Griffen sat there and said, "Please tell the man I don't want to go underwater. When my hair is wet it goes in my ears." (said in his Griffen accent) Me, "OK, lets just get you a hair cut." Griffen, "No, thank you. Just tell him what I already said please." Needless to say, Avary and Jackson moved up a level. Griffen did not. I'm pretty sure he just went to get the lolli-pop at the end of the two weeks!

Popsicles, water balloons, 3rd graders, OH MY!

So today was Jacksons picnic in the park to celebrate the end of the school year. It is an all day event at the schools local park filled with super excited almost 4th grade kids! Griffen and Avary tried their very best to keep up with all the chaos and actually did a pretty good job. They had people handing them water balloons, pushing them on the swings and giving them lots of popsicles, candy and cookies. Their lunch went completely untouched! Jackson had a blast playing in the sprinklers with all of his buddies. It was a great way to wind up the year!

The last awards ceremony of 3rd grade!

Ms. Edelen, Jackson and Principal, Mrs. True.

Jackson was chosen for the Homework Hero Award (turned in everything AND earned 100%) and Perfect Attendance Award today at school. The year is quickly coming to an end. I don't know what is harder to believe, Jackson as a 4th grader or me as the mom of a 4th grader! YIKES!! This year has been full of fun and challenges, but we made it.

The city by the bay!

We recently went to San Francisco for a couple of days. It was a quick, but great trip. The kids love walking around and checking new things out. We did a little sight-seeing, took a submarine tour, and a lot of yummy eating. My kind of get-away!

Oh, what dat mell??????

This is how Avary spent most of her time in San Francisco. She must be blind as a bat cause that girls nose is out of control!

Avary and her 'real' baby friend!

This is Avary and her little friend Jillian. Avary is OBSESSED with her. Easy to see why. She is super cute!!

Triathlon Man!

Craig participated in his very first triathlon this past weekend. I was really torn about going and 'representing' him, but decided it would be about 3 minutes worth of him and 3 hours of hanging out with the kids. We can do that here :) So, my dad went with him and took his camera. As soon as I can figure out how to get the photos off his iphone and on my computer, I will share. Anyway, I have just this one picture of his calf. They write your age on you so they know what group you should be with. RUDE!! I can think of hundreds of other things I would be ok with written on me. Anyway, Craig said it was hard watching the 40+ year olds rushing past him, but he too was rushing past 20+'s! He had a great time and did very good also! He ended up finishing 193rd out of over 500! Pretty impressive if you ask me.

We're Ready!

Swim lessons started this week. I was actually kinda nervous. I didn't know if I was going to have to throw everyone in the pool and run and hide in my car or if they would willingly get in. They did the latter! It went great, although it was only the first night. Keep your fingers crossed it continues to go smoothly.

Anansi and the Moss Covered Rock

Two of the third grade classes at Jacksons school have been working very hard for quite some time and tonight was the big show! It was adorable! Everyone from the Rhinos to the chorus did great.

Zip-line fun!

This morning at gymnastics the kids got to do the zip-line again. This time I came prepared with my camera.

What?!

This morning I was greeted by Avary with a ,"what up Shelby?". I'm sorry, you must NOT be talking to me and if you are, it should be "what up Mommy." ;) Sheesh.

And, she's off.........

Avary has done this before, but now it is for real. She has it! With only a little problem getting started, she is off!

Me, "Avary, come sign Lea's birthday card."

Avary, "Is it ok if I just sign Griffens name? I can do that much better."

I wonder if this means that she is going to be forging my name at an early age like her big brother?!

Happy Memorial Day weekend!

I wish I looked this cute in my glasses!

Avary in my moms reading glasses.

Bike ride on the American River bike trail.

With family in town for Memorial Day, we decided to go for a bike ride out of the neighborhood. So we loaded up the bikes and headed to the American River bike trail. Other than trying to explain to the kids that we NEED to stay on this side of the 'road' it was a lot of fun. We even convinced my mom to wear a helmet even though it was going to mess up her hair. :)
