The Youngs are on the bus!

Moving to Gig Harbor has offered us many new opportunities. 

Today, we enjoyed another one.

THE SCHOOL BUS!

That's right!  The kids are riding the bus to and from school. 

It was all smiles (and nervous tummies) while we waited for it to pick up.

Now, Bus Driver Pam takes her job very serious.  It is, get in, younger kids up front, sit down and hold on.  This was the best picture I could get before they drove off.  I am hoping that this will help the kids meet some neighborhood friends.  :)

My dad came up for a long weekend to visit us and Seattle for the first time! It was great. We caught a ferry and headed to Pikes Place for the day. Although we froze on the way there, it was clear and sunny once we drove off the ferry. Couldn't have been nicer weather. 

 We ate lunch at the restaurant, Athenian Inn, that Tom Hanks and Rob Reiner filmed some of Sleepless in Seattle!

Happy St. Patricks Day

 Griffen and Avary and I tried out a place called Discovery Village this past weekend.  It was perfect timing.  They were having a St. Patricks Day party. 

 They even had a Moon Sand corner.  This stuff is right up there with Play-Dough with me.....NOT ALLOWED IN OUR HOUSE!  It is like a fine sand/dirt that sticks together, usually.  I told them to enjoy it for as long as they wanted.  I think it should have been left on the moon.  ;)

Not even snow can stop us, but it came close......

We have been trying for a few weeks to get together with our friends Matt, Blythe, Emma and Molly.  Seems like someone is always sick when we plan something though.  This worked out great!  We didn't plan it until the morning of and we were all healthy and ready to play.  We met them at the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium in Tacoma.  It was just a quick 20 minute drive for us and a 7 minute ferry right for them!  The weather even cooperated for the most part.  We had everything from sunshine to snow to wind and rain, but freezing or not, we all had a great time.

Lately the thing to do around here is Skype.  All three kids love to 'call' their friends back in Sacramento and check in.  I have to admit, it is so good to see and hear them all laughing together again.
