277 candles!

We flew down to Huntington Beach last week to celebrate 4 very important people.  Craigs dad is turning 70, family friends are turning 80, 77 and 50.

Avary helping out before the party.

And Griffen doing his part keeping Jackaranda busy.

Lisa explaining Preakness to G and A and helping them place their bets.

80+70+77+50=Birthday Extravaganza!

Molly, McKenna, Jackson, Avary and Griffen. Never without a soccer ball.

My Most Interesting Men with the Most Interesting Man.

Griffen and Gordy.
Two peas in a pod.
I'm certain they've been friends in a previous life.
 Certain.

The parents and the kids.
These two families have been friends for 41 years strong and counting.

Parents, kids and some spouses.

Kids.

I adore these two.
Gordy and Mrs. Wenlock.

Griffen starting the dinner while the rest of us take photos.

Grandparents and most of the grandchildren.

This is what 41 years of laughs, tears and funny stories looks like.

And, many more.

Beach Day!

What a good aunt.

This looks MISERABLE to me.
Yet, they both had to do it.

Puppies!

A week before we were to be down in Huntington Beach, Craigs sisters dog had puppies.  5 adorable little puppies.  How's that for timing?!

This little guy was the baby of the 5.  Griffen loved to weigh him every day to see if he was gaining weight.

And, he did!

On Your Marks!

Jackson competed with his school in their first track meet last week.  His events were Long Jump and 4x100  He did great!  Even with those silly shorts they make them wear.

It was HOT out there.  Luckily the PTA was selling shaved ice to keep this little man happy.
Avary was lucky enough to be at her basketball game.  Indoors.

The Giving Tree

Read by Griffen Young

The first of many, I'm sure.

I love watching her play. And, I love that she loves to play. Hard. Avary recently tried out for a select soccer team. She was so nervous I practically had to pay her to get out of bed. Once there, like usual, she did great!  She was offered a place on the team. It's a U10 team. She's SO looking forward to it. The signing of the contract was the cherry on top for her. The signing of the check was the cherry stem on bottom for me. She's totally worth it though.  Most days.

One down,

27 to go!
At some point maybe 'put the balls away' will be taken more seriously. This was stuck under my car this morning. POP! went the ball. Scared the sh*t out of me.

Not even the pouring down rain could keep these two away.

Brotherly Support

These two love to be there to support the snack shack, I mean Avary, during her softball games. 2 GIANT hot dogs, 1 GIANT bag of sunflower seeds and a little help from Mike 'n Ike is all it takes to make it through 2 hours of slow ball. I mean softball.

She misses her people when they're at school.

I do too.
Really.

Mother 'May' I......

Continue to keep gas in the car, snacks in the bags and pencils sharpened in the door as we continue to live out of the car.

And Vodka in the freezer.
