A night with my princess!
So it finally happened, Avary and I had our first girls night out! We and two of her friends and their moms went to see Princesses on Ice at Arco Arena. I don't know if Avary was more excited to leave the house without the boys or for the unexpected. She had no idea what I was talking about when I told her where we were going and who we were going to see. Not much of a princess girl.....yet! We had a great night and plan for many more to come!

"I just don't know"
This afternoon I took all three kids to the doctors office for Jackson and Avary to get their Flu Mist vacination. Griffen wasn't able to get the mist because of his asthma and I was told he wouldn't be able to get the shot for a couple more weeks. So, he came with us to watch the others get "misted" as he said. Then it happened. The nurse decided to just do the shot while we were there. Great to save us another trip down to Elk Grove, not so great to prepare him with Tylenol and words of comfort and probably a couple of bribes. After wrestling his pants off, the deed was done. A couple of crocodile tears later and a token for the choking hazard toy machine and we were off. When we got home Avary and Griffen went to doing their thing and started having a conversation. It was HILARIOUS and very sad at the same time. Here is a little of how it went.
Avary- Ha, I got some medicine in my nose. (giggle, giggle)
Griffen- I got a shot. There is a hole in my leg. It hurts the whole time. (pouty face)
Avary- Why you got a shot? (nose crinkled)
Griffen- I just don't know. (sob, sob)

Wet Day on the Farm!
Today was Griffen and Avarys first field trip! We went to a place called Impossible Acres, which turned out to be true considering all the mud! It was a farm and pumpkin patch all in one. We started the day with picking out pumpkins. Luckily Farmer Clyde had some already picked out and under a structure to protect us from the rain. Then we got to go into his BIG RED BARN and pet some baby farm animals. There were baby pigs, cows, ponys, bunnies, ducks and chicks, kittens and goats. So cute! All the kids did great! It must be horrible being a little animal and being held by a little kid.....Thank goodness, all survived (I think). Then we went on a tractor ride. I think we did this just to make sure that we were completely soaked! It was fun, but very wet. Bonus of the day is that Craig was able to join us. We all know how much Craig likes farm animals ;) He must love us more!

Eeney, Meeney, Miney, Moe!
Fire in the Hole! Or is it, Pumpkin in the Hole!
Wait......do we go right or left?
On Your Marks, Get Set, GO!!!!!!!
On the way home from Monterey we stopped at a very cool Pumpkin Patch that had many more things than just pumpkins. This was one of them. Tricycle Races and Big Bike Races! So FUN and hilarious to watch. I cried I laughed so hard. This is right up my kids alley. They do this everyday in the backyard, but this time they had a crowd cheering them on!
Under the Sea!
This past weekend, Craig had a builders show in Monterey to attend, so we hitched a ride and went with him. We had a blast. We were lucky enough to be joined by my mom and truly appreciated the extra hands. On Friday we visited Fishermens Wharf. As you can imagine, Avary's nose went wild. That girl has the nose of a hound dog and does not like fresh ocean air. We probably heard, "Whats Dat Mell?" a thousand times. It was pretty nasty in some areas. From fresh clam chowder to fresh saltwater taffy everyone was happy. On Saturday we spent most of the day at the aquaruim. Now, that place is amazing. No matter how many times you go, it gets better each time. I must say that my favorite exhibit of all was the Seahorses. Those are some amazing creatures. But, then again I liked all the jellyfish also. They too are pretty cool. And then there was the penguins. We could have watched them for hours. The kids of course loved all the hands-on things to do and I of course loved all the hand sanitizer dispensers :) All in all, it was GREAT weekend!!
