The Cat in the Hat is who we saw,

Our girl thought it was rather blah,
You see she's read the book before, which made her want a little more.
The boy we took enjoyed the show, he laughed so much his eyes began to flow. It was at the Seattle Children's Theatre, which was nice because they had a heater. We took my mom, who the kids call Mimi, she probably would have rather gone out and had tea. It was a cold rainy night, but luckily we were dropped off with the entrance in sight. Craig and Jackson went to a sports bar, and later came and got us with the car. All in all lots of fun, I'm sure we are not done!

Might be time to call things what they really are

Avary was in the hot lunch line and saw that Raviolis were available. She loves Raviolis. We as a family actually call them pillows. Not sure why, we just do. Anyway, the lunch lady had no idea what she wanted. Poor Avary had no idea what the real name was. She ended up with a hamburger and a cranky attitude.

Love the shoes. ;)

"Wow, those girls were fast."

"They must have had some of those 5hr energy drinks!" ~ Avary after her soccer game.

Point Robinson, Vashon

 The Young and Deines kids!

 Molly, Avary and Emma.

 Monkey see, monkey do!

The kids found this tree that had tipped over and was super bouncey.
Lots of fun, unless you have boney buns.  ;)

Blythe giving a little lesson on finding crabs under the rocks.  I love Griffens face in this one.

Avary was all over holding the crabs.
She loved it.

 Drift wood tee-pee.

 "Grace, just stop it."

 Love these crazies!

The kid table that I used to sit at never had a view like this.

Craig captured the sunset on the ferry ride home.
Amazing, huh?!

First newspaper article for Avary!

Avarys teacher has a great challenge for his students. Every year he finds the Sight Word Champions in his class and gives them a shirt that says just that to wear loud and proud! The challenge is to learn 100 sight words. Avary was photographed during one of her practice sessions with her little friend. She may not be a kindergartener like it says, but she is on her way to being a Champion!

A day at Fort Casey

One of the many things we have learned since living here, is that there is SO many things to see and do.  This past Sunday we ferried over from Port Townsend (adorable little town) to Whidbey Island (where Craig and I honeymooned 15 years ago) to a place called Fort Casey.  It was educational, beautiful, and most of all fun!

Look kids, friendly reminder.  Holy crap.  They weren't kidding.  This kind of thing would have never been allowed in California.

My handsome guy hanging out in the bunker.

I was not a fan of this dark, enclosed tunnel.

 Even the weeds were pretty.

 Driftwood fort.

 Water snake.
Just kidding.  Seaweed.

Yes, we tested it to make sure it was safe.  No children were injured during the taking of this photo.

 Seaweed turned to jump rope!

 Aw.

 I just love us.
